National Bank of Greece_Vipeth

City: Thessaloniki
Architect: R. Sakellaridou – M. Papanikolaou

It is the first branch built with the new philosophy of the National Bank of Greece and functioned as a prototype. The new style is characterised by a simple and austere vovabulary of intense geometric elements and the use Cypriot porolithos that is characteristic of the National Bank of Greece branches building fabric. Slot luminaires have replaced the common luminaire types that are found in most banks creating a common architectural language throughout the building. The vibrant transparent features of the building made out of reinforced glass are transformed in luminous boxes during the night.
